A Deceleration drive is an engine used by the Asgard specifically to control a ship's atmospheric reentry. They are known to be used in Bilskirnir-class ships. (SG1: "Nemesis")

History

In 2000, after the replicators took control of Thor's ship the Biliskner, SG-1 used a BF-8 on the outside of the ship to blow the deceleration drive to affect the ship's entry path to Earth. (SG1: "Nemesis")
