The Replicator hyperdrive is a type of hyperdrive developed by the Replicators during their escape from Hala.
Functions
Using the hyperdrive, the Replicator cruiser is fast enough to outpace an Asgard science vessel when its attempt to catch up is interrupted. The hyperdrive is intergalactic, allowing the cruiser to cross from the Ida galaxy to the Othala galaxy. Replicator ships were also able to cross from Othala to the Milky Way. After getting Replicator Carter's location, Fifth's ship was able to make the journey in just two hours. (SG1: "New Order, Part 1", "New Order, Part 2", "Gemini", "Reckoning, Part 1")
Like the Tau'ri hyperdrive, the Replicator hyperdrive is capable of making an in-atmosphere hyperspace jump. (SG1: "New Order, Part 2")
Similar to the Asgard hyperdrive, the Replicator hyperdrive uses all of the ship's power that would normally go towards shields, leaving it vulnerable to a self-destruct in hyperspace. This also leaves the ship vulnerable for a brief moment as it exits hyperspace. (SG1: "New Order, Part 1")
History
While escaping from the time dilation field on Hala, the Replicators under the leadership of Fifth are able to create a Replicator cruiser with its own hyperdrive. After kidnapping Major Samantha Carter from the Daniel Jackson, the cruiser jumps to hyperspace on a course for Orilla. Although the Daniel Jackson is briefly able to catch up, a Replicator's interference causes the Asgard science vessel to fall behind again and the cruiser outpaces it. However, the Asgard fleet is able to estimate where the cruiser will come out of hyperspace and ambush it in Orilla's orbit before the ship can raise shields, destroying the cruiser. At the conclusion of the Battle of Orilla, a Replicator spider ship makes an in-atmosphere hyperspace jump to escape before Thor destroys most of the Replicators overrunning the colony with a Replicator disruptor cannon. (SG1: "New Order, Part 2")
Replicator Carter lures Fifth's ship to the Alpha Site in order to destroy him with a disruptor satellite. The ship is able to make it to the Alpha Site in the Milky Way in two hours from Fifth's previous position, presumably in the Othala galaxy. (SG1: "Gemini")
The Replicators' intergalactic hyperdrive allows them to invade the Milky Way galaxy after being driven out of Othala by the Asgard. (SG1: "Reckoning, Part 1")
